Standoff in Polk County ends peacefully

A standoff between a man with a pump shotgun and police in Polk County ends peacefully Monday.

Polk County Police, assisted by Aragon Police, were dispatched to Portland Road Road and made contact with a twenty-year-old man who placed the shotgun to his chin and began requesting for officers to shoot him.

After an approximate two-hour standoff the man surrendered.

He was then transported by Redmond EMS to receive the help that he needed.

It was later determined that the male subject had called Polk County E-911 on himself.
