The Rome Public Safety Committee held a called meeting Thursday night to discuss safety in Downtown Rome.
There have been a number of incidents involving unsupervised juveniles in the downtown area.
Much of the focus of Thursday’s meeting was focused on giving kids more positive activities to keep them from getting into trouble.
The committee heard from concerned citizens, community activists, and area ministers.
Commissioner Bonny Askew, who chairs the committee, said a force is being formed to come up with some solutions.
