Floyd helipad gets city commission approval

STAFF REPORTS

The Rome City Commission has approved a special use permit for the construction of a helipad at Floyd Medical Center.

The helipad will be located on top of the roof of the emergency room.

Hospital officials say the helipad will give air ambulance patients quick, direct access to the region’s only Level II Trauma Center.

In other action, the commission approved annexation requests for properties on High Street, Harrison Road, and Burnett Ferry Road.

A rezoning request for a townhouse development at Dodd Boulevard and Highway 411 was withdrawn by the applicant without prejudice, which means the applicant can file again without having to wait a year.
