Speed enforcement cameras result in 567 warnings

The Rome Public Safety Committee got an update on the speed enforcement cameras in the school zone at the Rome High-Middle School campus Thursday.

According to Chief Denise Downer-McKinney, between August 5 and August 18, 567 warnings have been sent out to motorists traveling at least 11 miles per hour over the speed limit.

We are still in the warning phase for the cameras.

Real citations will start going out on September 7.
