Changes to elections office on agenda for county commission meeting

The Floyd County Commission will consider several changes to the elections office then they meet Tuesday.

The commission is set to vote on a recommendation to consider Vanessa Waddell as the Floyd County Chief Elections Clerk at a salary of $65,000.

The commission is also being asked to restructure the office of elections by creating two job classifications, adding the positions of deputy elections clerk and senior elections clerk, as well as converting the existing two full-time positions to two part-time positions.

This comes with a budget adjustment up to $102,000 to cover the increase in salary and benefits for the Floyd County Board of Elections.

Tuesday’s County Commission meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.
