FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A Silver Creek man was arrested Saturday at his Donahoo Road residence after he tried to set a family member’s bed on fire.

According to Floyd County Jail records, the victim was in bed at the time and could have been burned or seriously injured.

Another family member was in the home at the time of the incident and feared for her safety.

35-year old Jared Brent Smith was charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit arson, and two counts of simple assault.
