Report: Man on motorcycle fled from deputies

A motorcyclist was arrested over the weekend after allegedly fleeing from Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies.

According to jail records, 34-year old Jason Earl Edwards showed no intention of stopping when deputies attempted a traffic stop for a headlight violation.

Edwards then fled at a high rate of speed, almost hitting a vehicle at the loop and Kingston Highway.

He was eventually arrested at Calhoun and Burton.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, improper lane change, running a stop sign, failure to maintain a lane, suspended license, a headlight violation, and operation of a motorcycle without a face shield.
