June25th, 2021 – 2:40 PM

Floyd County Georgia Government –

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Skate Park, located at Etowah Park, was built in 1995. Since that time, it has been used extensively and is in need of repair and upgrading. The park is approximately 21,000 square feet. The property is owned by the Floyd County Board of Commissioners.

In 2017, the voters of Floyd County approved a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) to refurbish the Skate Park located at Etowah Park in the amount of $150,000. In 2021, the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a budget to acquire the services of an Architect/Engineer for design services and construction of the skate park.

Anyone with suggestions and ideas on the design of the skate park can email Mark Cochran at [email protected].

A public meeting will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at the Charles Parker Center, located at 1325 Kingston Hwy, Rome, GA.
