On Tuesday afternoon, 9-11 dispatch received reports of black smoke in the area around the Darlington Mobile Home Village on Agnes street SW.

When the Rome/Floyd Fire department arrived at the scene, they found that an abandoned one-story residential structure was on fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly before it could spread. 

Firefighters on the scene said that the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

No one was inside the residence at the time of the blaze.
