Georgia gas prices held steady at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia motorists are paying an average price of $2.91 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is the same from a week ago, 18 cents more than last month and $1.13 more than this time last year.

According to Garrett Townsend with AAA, pump prices usually trickle higher during the summer months due to increased demand.  However, if total domestic stocks outpace demand, American motorists will likely see pump prices fluctuate in the next coming weeks.

Local averages on Monday were $2.87 in Floyd County, $2.88 in Bartow County, $2.91 in Gordon County, $2.87 in Polk County, and $2.76 in Chattooga County.
