On Monday morning a large crowd gathered for a Memorial Day Ceremony that was presented by the Exchange Club of Rome at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.

The Memorial Day service included music played by the Exchange Club band, a ceremonial wreath-laying, and also special remarks made by Retired Colonel, David S. Hubner, of the United States Army.

In addition to the Memorial Day Ceremony, the public was invited to view one of the largest displays of historical military items ever to be displayed in town, a cannon fire demonstration from the Cherokee Artillery group, and also the National Award-winning Replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

(In the video above) I spoke about the importance of the Replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with Retired Air Force Major Bill King, Retired Lt. Colonel of the Civil Air Patrol Jim Belzer, and former Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Guard Matt Woody (Who also serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier).

This year (on November 11, 2021) marks the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
