Four accused of vandalizing Model High football, baseball fields

Floyd County Police made four arrests late last week in connection with acts of vandalism at Model High School that occurred on May 21.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 20-year old Corbin McDonald Lamb of Rome, 18-year old Michael Hiram Wood of Kingston, 18-year old Luke Thomas Holtzendorf of Rome and 18-year old Micah Jahari Merrittt of Rome are all charged with felony 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and misdemeanor criminal trespass.

According to the arrest warrants, the four spray-painted the goalposts and trident on the football field as well as the windscreen at the baseball field.

The graffiti included the initials “PHS” that was spray-painted at several locations, as well as a racial slur, sexual drawings, and sayings.

The estimated cost to replace the windscreen is listed at $5,700.
