STAFF REPORTS
The Floyd County Commission has approved a bid for the Redmond Trail project.
The low bidder is Lewallen Construction Company of Marietta in the amount of $838,153.01.
If you remember, the lowest bid for work came in significantly higher than the original federal grant funds awarded for the project, resulting in the need for additional Georgia DOT funds and the local contribution having to be revised.
Both the Rome City and Floyd County Commissions recently approved an additional 71,790 in matching funds.
TRED of Rome is also contributing $25,000.
The project includes a bridge over Little Dry Creek that will ultimately connect downtown on the west side of the river to the Mt. Berry Trail.
