Exchange Club Family Resource Center –
Since 1990, the annual “Night at the Movies” has been a Rome tradition, bringing good friends together for a great cause, the prevention of child abuse. To date, the event has raised almost $300,000 for the Exchange Club Family Resource Center.
This year, the annual event will take place on June 8th at the Movies at Berry Square (2820 Martha Berry Hwy).
According to Terry Clift, Event Chair: “I’m so pleased that we can bring Night at the Movies back again. We typically hold this event each February but didn’t feel we could safely hold it until now. We are happy to offer a selection of blockbuster movies that our guests can choose from this year, along with the great food provided by so many favorite restaurants here in Rome.”
Tina Bartleson, Executive Director, reports that funds raised from this event bring needed support and education services to families who are overwhelmed.
Doors at the theatre will open at 6 pm on June 8th and guests will enjoy a variety of hors d’oeuvres and libations. At 7:15 pm, guests will find their way to their choice of five movies.
Tickets are available online at www.frcrome.org or by calling 706-290-0764. Tickets cost $55 per person, $100 for couples, and $45 each for groups of 10 or more tickets.
There were be several protocols in place to encourage safety: food will be served to guests instead of the usual self-serve buffet, inside and outside food tables will be placed to reduce crowding, and guests will be asked to mask when they are not enjoying the delicious food and drinks.
Proceeds benefit The Exchange Club Family Resource Center and its in-home child abuse prevention program.
