Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

The Floyd County Commission is expected to approve the purchase of a mini-caliber bomb response robot when they Tuesday night.

The purchase in the amount of $67,590 was budgeted in the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

Commissioners will also consider an excess application through the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Local Maintenance and Grant Improvement program for $200,000 with a $60,000 local match for safety improvements on Floyd County roads.

During the caucus, the commission will get an update on the engineering department.

Caucus will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Floyd Room at the Forum River Center, followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Ballroom.

The meetings are open to the public.  Everyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
