February 24, 2021–12:20 p.m.

February is African American History Month and on Tuesday the Floyd County Commission recognized members of our community who have made an impact.

The county invited the community to nominate Floyd County citizens who continue to serve the greater good.

The honorees were Bishop Norris K. Allen Sr. of New Hope Overcoming Cathedral Ministries, Paula Jasper with Greater Community Bank, Sarah Dahlice Malone, president of the Rome NAACP, Rev. Terrell Shields with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and the late Danny Lee, a battalion chief with the Rome Fire Department.
