It won’t quite be a white Christmas but we could see snow flurries early Friday morning.
Rome-Floyd Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Herrington sat in on a National Weather Service briefing on Tuesday.
He said the most significant precipitation (rain and possible thunderstorms) will start Wednesday night with a strong cold front bringing heavy rain Christmas Eve.
There is snow predicted on the backside of the weather system for the northeast mountains mainly, but we could experience snow flurries further south.
Christmas Day is expected to be extremely cold with temperatures below freezing with wind gust 20-30 mph expected with possible “Black Ice” road conditions could also exist.
