Rome City Commission meets Monday

The Rome City Commission will host leaders from a network of nonprofit agencies Monday night for a ceremonial signing to mark the official founding of the HOPE Alliance for Rome and Floyd County.

The historic event represents efforts by local leaders to promote collaborative efforts to meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable persons in the community.

Other agenda items for Monday’s city commission meeting include First Reading of a number of rezoning requests, an annexation and a special use permit.

The commission will also present a proclamation for Salvation Army Day.

Appointments to the Unified Land Development Code Board and Rome/Floyd Parks and Recreation are also on the agenda.

During the caucus, the commission will have a website discussion with the technology department.

The caucus starts at 5 p.m. in the Sam King Room at City Hall.

The regular meeting follows at 6:30 upstairs.
