FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 23-year old Rome man was jailed Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with kidnapping.

According to the warrant, Tiquan Ticristan Barrett of an Elliott Drive address took a child against the mother’s will.

Barrett brought the child to a convenience store on Calhoun Road and again left with the child.

Barrett reportedly told the mother that she was going to get what was coming to her, resulting in an additional charge of terroristic threats and acts.

When confronted by police, Barrett refused to get out of his vehicle and fled.

Police say Barrett’s vehicle reached speeds of 118 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone and he intentionally drove on the other side of the road, narrowly avoiding a collision with another vehicle.

Barrett was additionally charged with obstruction of officers, fleeing or attempting to elude, and numerous traffic violations.
