STAFF REPORTS
Rome City Commissioners will tackle a number of agenda items when they meet Monday night.
Commissioners are expected to affirm the hiring of Aundi Lesley as the new director of downtown development.
A resolution regarding terms, conditions and acceptance of grant payments from the Coronavirus Relief Fund from the Federal Government will go before the commission.
The funds from the CARES Act seek to help mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on the economy.
The commission is also expected to discuss a policy that would restrict the use of electronic devices during city commission meetings.
A food to drink variance request for the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College is also on the agenda.
Establishments must sell as least as much food as alcohol.
The variance for the tennis center would allow for the sales of merchandise such as tennis rackets and other related equipment to go toward that ratio.
A rezoning request for a proposed new convenience store at 1705 Shorter Avenue will also go before the commission.
The pre-meeting caucus will begin at 5 p.m. in the Sam King Room with the regular meeting to follow on the second floor at city hall at 6:30 p.m.
