On Thursday morning The Floyd County Police Department gathered together with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, The Brotherhood of Firefighters, The Floyd County Bomb Squad, and The Rome-Floyd Litter and Blight Task Force for a special community service project….

The goal of this project was to provide dignity to an elderly man as he battles health complications due to cancer that is in an aggressive stage.

The Floyd County Police Department learned about the situation after neighbors in the area had been complaining about garbage and smells from the residence.

When officers went to investigate the area, they found the man and his dogs in a difficult circumstance.
