STAFF REPORTS

Floyd County School Superintendent Dr. Jeff Wilson has responded to a racially insensitive post created by a student on social media.

In a letter to parents and stakeholders, Dr. Wilson said:

“We believe that there is no place in our schools, homes, community, or the world for hate and judgment of others based on their race, ethnicity, or national origin. Racist comments, videos, photos, and such will not be tolerated on any platform and do NOT reflect the culture and beliefs of Floyd County Schools.”

Dr. Wilson also urged parents to take time to have age-appropriate conversations with their children about racial injustice and offered a link to resources for parents.
