An in-depth study regarding Rome’s Transit System is underway the first of two open houses will be held today from 3 until 7 p.m. in the Sam King Room at City Hall.

Rome City Commissioner Sundai Stevenson said officials want the public to weigh in.

“Let us know what you’d like for our transit system to be,” she said.  “We will take all of these comments and put them together.  Then our consultant, Moore and Associates, will come back and give us a report.”

The second open house will be from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., also in the Sam King Room.

The Rome Transit Department is in a transitional period since the Rome Board of Education now operates a bus system to transport students.
