FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 48-year old Rome man has been charged with murder in the death of his three year old grandson.

According to the arrest warrants, Antonio Montez Hudson caused the death of the child back on January 8 of 2019 at the Ashland Park Apartments by committing the offense of cruelty to children.

Hudson is also charged with two counts of 2nd-degree cruelty to children for failing to provide a safe living environment for the child and for failing to provide medical care for the child in a timely manner.

The warrants did not go into any other specific detail but Assistant Rome Police Chief Debbie Burnett told the Rome News Tribune that the child’s autopsy revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
