[VIDEO] Severe thunderstorms being down trees, power lines Saturday

A strong storm rolled through the area Saturday afternoon, resulting in property damage but fortunately no loss of life.

The wind blew the roof of the Benjamin F. Edwards & Company building across from the post office on Martha Berry Boulevard.

The storm also brought down a billboard near a car dealership on Shorter Avenue and knocked down the traffic signal at Shorter and Division Street.

On Kenwood Drive off Billy Pyle Road, a tree fell onto the carport area of a home.

Trees and power lines were also down on Horseleg Creek Road and throughout the county.

At the height of the storm, there were more than 180 power outages in the Rome area, affecting nearly 19,000 customers.
