Two arrested on drug, theft charges

Two people were arrested at a location on Shorter Avenue Thursday on drug and theft-related charges.

24-year old Tyler Mitchell Morgan of a Lucille Avenue address in Rome is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

24-year old Amber Leann McCool of a Garden Avenue address in Lindale is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug-related objects, and two counts of theft by taking a motor vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records, McCool took a 2007 Ford Escape and refused to return the vehicle on multiple occasions.

She and Morgan were also found with suspected heroin and syringes while McCool was also in possession of two different types of unmarked pills.

Morgan also had a Colt 38 revolver in his underwear, according to the report.
