A woman was killed late last week while walking along Highway 20 just east of I-75 in Bartow County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 53-year old Kimberly Ann Chambers of Cartersville was hit by a Toyota Corolla at around 11:50 p.m. Friday and was pronounced dead at Cartersville Medical Center.

The report states that the investigation determined that Chambers was improperly walking in the roadway.

Chambers was on a poorly lit section of the roadway and was wearing dark clothing.

The driver of the Corolla said they never even saw Chambers but felt the impact.
