Man charged with drug trafficking, felony obstruction

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officer arrested a 28-year old Rome man on drug trafficking charges Monday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Dante Rishad Edmondson of a Pebble Bend Court address was found in possession of over 28 grams of methamphetamine while at a location on Martha Berry Boulevard.

He was also found with heroin, digital scales, and ecstasy pills.

The report states that Edmondson fought with and resisted officers.

One officer sustained a laceration; another was bruised while a third officer complained of neck pain.

Edmondson was additionally charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, four probation violations and felony obstruction of law enforcement officers.
