A Rome man is facing charges of bribery and items prohibited for possession by inmates following his arrest Tuesday.

According to arrest records, 25-year old Samuel James Kendrick, while a detail officer at the Floyd County Prison, accepted money to arrange a drop between July 29 and 30 to get alcohol, tobacco and a cell phone to inmates working at Model and Johnson Elementary Schools.

Kendrick, who turned himself in at the Floyd County Jail, is also charged with violation of oath by a public officer.
