A 77-year old man transported to the hospital following a wreck on the bypass near Rome High School Thursday died several hours after the wreck.

According to Rome Police, a Dodge Caliber driven by Luis Canela Hernandez crossed the median and struck a Lexus head-on.

The driver of the Lexus was also transported to the hospital with injuries.
