Five arrested for drugs on Chambers Street Wednesday

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Chambers Street Wednesday and arrested five people on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, officers found methamphetamine, scales, pipes, muscle relaxant pills, and a handgun, which had etching lines as if to alter the appearance of the ID number.

55-year old William David Welch Jr. and 55-year old Lori Ann Willenius, both of the residence, are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal use of an article with an altered identification mark.

Welch was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fugitive from justice.

Meanwhile, 54-year-old Kimberly Kay Edwards, also of Chambers Street, and 37-year-old Jennifer Renee Koenig of College Park Drive in Rome are charged with meth possession.

38-year-old Carrie Allan Hunter of Chambers Street was charged with possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, and a probation violation.
