GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

We have some important traffic information for motorists who will be traveling in the area of the Ledbetter Interchange this weekend.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, there will be a detour this weekend to accommodate a bridge rehabilitation project.

Starting Saturday morning, the bridge on Highway 27 South over Highway 411 will be closed and traffic will be detoured onto State Route 101.

This detour will stay in place until 5 a.m. on Monday.

If you are not familiar with the area it’s the lowest bridge of three at the interchange when heading toward Cedartown.

The bridge rehab includes cap replacements, deck repair, heat-straightening of damaged steel beams and painting steel structures.

Work on this project began early March 2019. The entire rehabilitation project, which includes the bridge in Floyd and another bridge in Haralson County, is expected to be completed by the end of December 2020, at a construction cost of nearly $1.5-million.
