STAFF REPORTS
We are less than a month away from the start of the 2019-2020 school year so now is the time to start thinking about getting school-age children up to date on their vaccines.
According to Janet Eberhart, Immunization Coordinator with Northwest Georgia Public Health, immunizations are the most effective way to protect individuals from vaccine-preventable diseases.
“Don’t wait until the last minute,” she said. “Go ahead and get into your pediatrician, your provider or the health department. Also, think about yourselves. As adults, we sometimes forget that we need to get vaccines boosted. Don’t forget about your adolescents, and those who are attending college.”
Eberhart was a guest on Monday’s First News with Tony McIntosh.
