Melissa Kendrick hired as new president of economic development

Rome and Floyd County has a new president of economic development.

The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority voted to hire Melissa Kendrick during a called meeting Tuesday morning.

Kendrick has over 25 years of experience, most recently serving as the president of the Economic Development Authority of Polk County.

She was also the 2018 chair of the Georgia Economic Developers Association.

According to a news release, Kendrick had directly contributed to the creation of over 850 jobs and $330 million in new investments throughout her career.

She begins her new job on August 1.
