STAFF REPORTS
The Floyd County Board of Education will hold two public hearings Monday regarding the proposed 2019 millage rate.
The board plans to lower the rate from 18.3 mils to 18.25 mils.
Even though that is a decrease, it is not lower than the rollback rate, so public hearings are required by Georgia law.
The first hearing will be at 11:30 a.m. during a called meeting.
Other agenda items for the meeting include personnel changes, child nutrition contract approvals, a resolution for the execution of a new bus lease/purchase and approval of a cast plaque for the new Armuchee High School gymnasium.
The board will also discuss the new school system logo.
The second millage rate public hearing will be at 6 p.m.
Both meetings will be at the central office on Riverside Parkway.
