Metro task force officer arrest three early Friday

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officer arrested three people at a motel on Martha Berry Boulevard early Friday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 29-year old Dustin Wayne Womack of Avenue C in Lindale was found with more than an ounce of methamphetamine, a smoking device, and scales, and was charged with traffic meth, possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.

Womack also reportedly tried to conceal a firearm from officers by tossing it into the bathtub.

He was additionally charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a probation violation.

37-year old Brandy Alice Mathis of Rockmart Road in Silver Creek was found with meth and a smoking device, according to the report.

She was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

24-year old Maggie Leann Harris of Beard Lake Road in Rome was charged with possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug-related objects.

Authorities say she had meth and Xanax and a smoking device.
