A 37-year old Rome woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly stabbed a man in the hand with a knife and then smashed his hand with a shovel.

According to the arrest warrant, Kristi Leigh Robbins went onto the victim’s property on Kinston Highway and then assaulted him.

The victim was struck with the shovel so hard it caused his hand to swell and turn blue.

Robbins is charged with aggravated assault.
