Water Leak Protection Program on Monday’s city commission agenda

The Rome City Commission will consider the approval of a Water Leak Protection program when they meet Monday night.

If approved, eligible water customers would be able to purchase protection against excessive leaks caused by any and all types of defects that might exist as a result of an inordinate, unusual, or non-customary amount of water being used.

Coverage under this program would be limited to $2,000.00 per calendar year, per meter, and per customer.

Also Monday, the commission is expected to approve the Tax Allocation District IV Development Agreement for the proposed East Bend project at the former Kmart site on Hicks Drive.

Commissioners are also expected to set the dates for the 2019 Ad Valorem Tax Rate Public Hearing.

Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

During the pre-meeting caucus, which begins at 5 p.m., the commission will hear from Gretchen Lugthart from the NW GA Regional Commission and Taylor WiIkes – Partnership Specialist with the United States Census.
