An unidentified body was found on the bank of the Etowah River on Sunday evening. According to the Floyd County Coroner’s Office, an unidentified victim is a caucasian man in his early 40s.

The cause of death is unknown, but Gene Proctor with the Floyd County Coroner’s Office stated that he suspects the man fell into the water, and then passed out on the bank. A fisherman apparently discovered the body on Sunday afternoon.

The man had no ID but is suspected of being a homeless person from the area. The body is being sent to the GBI crime lab for identification. There is no suspected foul play.
