“Playspace has grown beyond anything Jessica [Stewart, Executive Director] and I ever imagined. What began as a simple monthly get-together to enjoy theatrical work has blossomed into a true community. It has become a welcoming space for artists who couldn’t commit to a full rehearsal schedule—or who simply missed theater—to relax, reconnect, and create with like-minded people. Those brand new to theater found a warm, nonjudgmental environment where they could play, explore, and discover their voices for the very first time,” said Alli Clark, PLAYSPACE Director.
Rome Little Theatre has offered titles such as “Lungs”, “Puffs”, and “The Curious Incident of the Night”, to name a few that have been explored.
“Over the past year, we’ve proudly welcomed new members into the RLT community, expanded our volunteer family, and watched several PLAYSPACE participants make their stage debut in the 25–26 season. One year in, it’s not just the next piece of literature we look forward to—it’s the shared time, the thoughtful conversations, the tears, and the laughter that make this space so special. As a facilitator, it’s a joy to witness this community thrive, and I can’t wait to see what the next year of PLAYSPACE will bring,” Clark added.
