The community is invited to a meet-and-greet with Rome High School’s new head football coach on Wednesday.
Bill Stewart was hired during a called meeting of the Rome City School Board last week.
Stewart has won 101 games, seven region titles, and a state title as a head coach in Georgia.
He also coached for two years at Georgia Tech as an analyst and a linebackers coach and spent last year at Rabun County as defensive coordinator.
Stewart replaces John Reid, the winningest coach in school history, who also won the school’s only two state titles.
Wednesday’s meet-and-greet will begin at 5 p.m. at the Rome City School’s College and Career Academy on Veterans Memorial Highway.
