Man accused of grooming a minor for sex
A 66-year-old Lindale man has been arrested on charges of grooming a minor for sex, obscene internet contact with a child, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:
Wayne Lamont Nation Sr. communicated with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old child via text messages and the app Grindr and attempted to coerce the child, who was actually an undercover detective, into committing a sexual offense.
He messaged the undercover detective over 13 days, requesting nude photos and attempting to meet up for sex acts.
Nation also sent a lewd photo of himself, and was additionally charged with electronically furnishing obscene materials to a minor.
Report: Man possessed video depicting sex acts against a child
A West Rome man is facing a felony count of sexual exploitation of children following his arrest late last week.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Elisha James Randolph was in possession of a video depicting a child between the ages of 5 and 8 being sexually abused by an adult male.
He also shared the file via an online messaging service.
Randolph was also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
Woman charged with burglary, theft
A 22-year-old Garden Lakes woman has been arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Pennington Avenue on January 24.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Ashley Michelle Depaz-Moscoso entered the victim’s home and took a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
She also cut holes in the victim’s air mattress and damaged an Xbox controller.
Depaz-Moscoso is charged with 1st-degree burglary, criminal trespass, and felony theft by taking.
