The Georgia Department of Transportation announced that crews in Northwest Georgia treated more than 5,600 miles of roads prior to the winter weather arriving. GDOT began treating the roads on Friday at 7 p.m., and within 24 hours, all state routes in the 17 counties of NWGA were treated with brine.
By the Numbers (Through 1/24//26):
- Miles of Roads Treated: 5,673 Miles
- Brine Used: 263,935 Gallons
- Salt Used: 31 Tones
GDOT reminds the public to please stay off the roads during weather events and afterward until the roads are safe for travel. Road condition updates will be posted on the GDOT NWGA Facebook page and X account.
