Floyd County Schools cancel Saturday activities

Due to the potential threat of upcoming winter weather, all FCS activities are canceled on Saturday, January 24.

At this time, make-up dates for these events are to be determined as we continue to closely monitor weather conditions over the next several days and assess how they may impact upcoming schedules.

Please note: The FCS Honor Band Concert, scheduled for Friday, January 23, at Model High School, will take place, but the start time has been moved up to 5:30 p.m.

Any additional time changes or rescheduling for Friday activities will be communicated directly from your school. We ask that you remain patient with this correspondence, as coordination must take place between multiple schools, host sites, and officials—particularly for teams and groups traveling to different parts of the state—before decisions can be made to cancel, postpone, or proceed as scheduled.

Please know that Floyd County Schools is actively weather-aware and will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

Notifications regarding any additional changes will be shared as we receive them.
