The Northwest Georgia Charter Academy in Cave Spring will open for classes this coming August, and they are hiring.
Job postings are up for everything from bus drivers and custodians to classroom teachers.
“For anyone interested, our website has everything posted,” said Superintendent and Principal Dawn Williams. “It’s also running on the chamber website. We have full-time classroom positions—K-5 for sure and possibly 6-8 — as well as content middle school teachers, so we are looking for some qualified candidates. But then, I need a PE teacher, and we are going to look for special ed., and all the things. We also have positions for a business manager, a receptionist, and a federal programs director.”
You can check the job postings at nwgacharteracedemy.org/hr.
Williams added that a decision will be made later this month on whether or not to expand from K-5 to K-8.
“If parents are interested in the middle school, they really need to pre-enroll,” she said. “Because those are the numbers the board’s going to be looking at to see if we have enough interest. So, they really need to do that first step, at least, for the pre-enrollment to let us know they are interested. It’s not a 100 percent guarantee that they have to do anything, so it’s no burden on their end. It’s just a short few questions to get us the information because we really need to know how many are interested.”
Again, the first day of classes is August 3.
