No change of leadership on the Rome City School Board.
On Tuesday, the board reappointed Faith Collins as chair and Will Byington as vice-chair.
“Will and I certainly appreciate each one of you,” Collins said. “Thank you very, very much.”
In other action on Tuesday, the board approved the 2027 school calendar.
The first day of the school year will be on July 31, 2026.
Holidays include Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, and Juneteenth.
Fall Break is October 12-16; Thanksgiving Break is November 23-27, Winter Break is December 21-January 1and Spring Break is April 5-9, 2027.
The last day of the 2027 school year is on May 19.
