The Floyd County Commission will elect a chair and vice-chair for the coming year when it meets on Tuesday.
Also, during the first meeting of 2026, Jamie McCord will be re-appointed as county manager, and resolutions will be adopted, appointing the county attorney and Floyd County leadership.
New development standards for convenience stores and gas stations are slated for a first reading, following a vote by the Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission on Thursday to recommend approval.
The county commission is also expected to approve the fiscal year 2026 budget.
Also Tuesday, the county commission will recognize the Floyd County Prison 2025 Officer and Support Person of the Year.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the county administration building on Fourth Avenue.
The caucus starts at 4 p.m. and will include an executive session to discuss property acquisition, litigation, and personnel.
