High school football season is almost here, and one of Georgia’s biggest kickoff traditions is coming back to Barron Stadium.
On Tuesday, the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic held its annual kickoff luncheon, sponsored by Sports Turf Company, at the Rome Civic Center; The event featured coaches and players from this year’s participating teams.
Rome High’s Coach, John Reid, posed alongside Georgia Tech commits JJ Winston and Darnell Collins before sharing his thoughts on the Wolves’ 2025 squad.
This year’s Corky Kell Classic brings two games to Rome on Friday, August 15th:
- 5:00 PM – Cass High School vs. LaGrange High School
- 8:00 PM – Creekside High School vs. Rome High School
The prime-time matchup between Rome and Creekside is expected to be one of the highlights of the statewide showcase, setting the tone for another season of high school football under the lights at Barron Stadium.
