Man charged with aggravated assault, firing a weapon near a public street
A man is facing charges after a shot was fired on West Forest Street in South Rome on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old Jacob Jamel Julian Richmond of Rome struck a woman with a crutch and threatened to kill her.
He then fired a shot into the air.
Richmond is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and discharge of a firearm near a public street.
Man accused of shattering police patrol vehicle window
A 38-year-old Armuchee man was jailed over the weekend on a felony count of interference with government property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joshua Cleo Mize smashed his head into the passenger side window of a Floyd County police patrol vehicle.
He also kicked the window repeatedly, causing it to shatter.
The incident occurred on September 3 at Mize’s West Big Indian Trail residence.
Man charged with aggravated battery, burglary
A Kennesaw man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on a felony count of aggravated battery.
According to the arrest warrants:
36-year-old Christian Anthony Hernandez broke a man’s jaw back on February 1 at a location on Pollock Street.
He is also charged with 1st-degree burglary and three counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Man accused of injuring stepfather, shoving mother
A Garden Lakes man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated battery.
According to the warrant:
23-year-old Shaun Sebastian Dupree got into a fight with his stepfather and caused a serious injury to the man’s eye.
He also shoved his mother.
Dupree is also charged with battery, disorderly conduct, and public drunk.
Inmate facing charges
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges following an incident on Saturday.
According to jail records:
36-year-old Michael Anthony Rule struck another inmate in the face, leaving a visible mark.
He also falsified information in writing to a jail officer.
Rule is charged with unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, battery, and false statements and writings.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop for speeding on Highway 411 at Norton Road ended with the arrest of a Cartersville man on drug charges on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Dylan Brody Rutledge was found with THC wax and psilocybin mushrooms.
Rutledge is charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
Two charged with terroristic threats and acts
Two North Rome men were arrested on North Broad Street on Sunday after allegedly making threats against one another.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Justin Drew Crossan threatened to set 40-year-old James David Fondow’s tent on fire.
Meanwhile, Fondow told Crossan that he was going to “slap the taste out of your mouth.”
Both men are charged with terroristic threats and acts.
