Woman accused of fighting with police
A homeless woman was arrested on Shorter Avenue on Tuesday and charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
45-year-old Mary Ann Hill had a warrant for her arrest and resisted three officers who were trying to take her into custody.
She punched at the officers, striking one of them with her fist.
Hill also tensed up and refused to put her hands behind her back.
She is also charged with battery and failure to appear in court.
Woman arrested on felony shoplifting warrant
A Jasper woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on a warrant charging her with felony theft by shoplifting.
According to the warrant:
31-year-old Jennifer Marie Taylor worked in concert with another person to conceal and take $974.61 in goods at the West Rome Walmart on August 24.
Woman accused of kicking toddler
A 24-year-old North Rome woman has been arrested on a misdemeanor warrant charging her with simple battery.
According to the warrant:
Holly Nicole Callahan intentionally kicked a toddler in her care in the leg.
The incident occurred on May 5 at a location on Burton Road.
